The Garden Girl

The Garden Girl is sleeping like a pearl
For each day is longer than she needs
To tend her land
The flow of hourglass sand will pass her strolling through the reeds

How I wish I knew a Garden Girl like you
Taking comfort in border and bed
But you are solitude
That’s what I conclude, it seems

Watch her roam whilst softly raking loam
And planting seeds that minds might care
And when she’s through
As darkened skies change hue, look back to forever find her there

How I wish I knew a Garden Girl like you
Through puzzle and maze we’d thread
But you are solitude
That’s what I conclude, it seems

Another day is passing away
A day just dreaming like the last
If truth be known
This Queen without a throne will rule with beauty unsurpassed

How I wish I knew the Garden Girl that’s you
The follies and fields we’d tread
But you are solitude
That’s what I conclude, it seems
