A Caucus Race and a Long Tale

Standing on the shoreline
Waiting for the wind to blow
I’m waiting for the sunshine
We’d be warm and dry if it glowed
I’m chilled right to the bone
I’m soaked to the skin
I’m just waiting for the race to begin

Moving like the ripples
On the turning tide as it flows
The edge of the whirlpool
Tossed upon an ocean of woes
I’m chilled right to the bone
And soaked to the skin
I’m just waiting for the world to spin

Running round in circles
Chasing tails as tales we are told
The end of the rainbow
Such a pleasing sight to behold
Warmed right to the cockles
But my head’s in a spin
I’m just waiting for the fun to begin
